Brave New World, a science-fiction novel by Aldous Huxley, describes the society created by the ideas of a pure utopia. Huxley introduces the concepts of genetic engineering, propaganda, and multiple other building blocks of a utopian society to create a world unlike anything the current population could find possible. The use of anthropology explores the many different social norms found in the World State and how relatable they are to our modern society. Huxley uses multiple demonstrations of science and technological advancements to reveal the parallels from our society to that in Brave New World. His incorporation of historical connections to the real world show how simple the transformation of our society to that of the World State would be. The continual use of propaganda in Brave New World demonstrates how all humans succumb to conformity and even our government could effortlessly brainwash us, even if we do not think so.
