Synthetic Music and Scents/FeeliesSynthetic music and scents are most commonly used at feelies, movies with various sensory effects. They add pleasant smells and sounds to what we would know as a plain film. Scent organs are machines that associate pleasant smells with different instruments. "The scent organ was playing a delightfully refreshing Herbal Capriccio - rippling arpeggios of thyme and lavender, of rosemary, basil, myrtle, tarraagon..." (Huxley 153). These feelies are not limited to scents and sounds, they affect physical senses as well. While holding metal knobs one can feel tingling sensations associated with the film. In our society there are multiple shows that combine the other four senses with watching a film, but not to the extent of the World State.
